What Could Be Inside Your Computer in the Near Future

The hardware that’s inside a conventional computer today may not be very different in the next five years. Several new products are coming up fast. According to various sources, however, Intel isn’t in a rush to push them into the consumer market yet. An example of such a product is Optane. As 5G rolls out, we might see faster internet connections with those owning laptops that were recently produced enjoying the appeal through a traditional upgrade curve. At a glance, it doesn’t seem like much is going to be rolled out soon.
Computing then may still have the same foundational structure, only in better resolution and more visually appealing. The real change may come from computerized devices. The Internet of Things is advancing at a fast rate. Autonomous cars are already in production. There are plenty of other devices which will have computers in them. For example smart toasters and locks. The medical world is incorporating smart devices fast. The trajectory of such products has been seen in the mobile phone industry. The first smartphones were business-oriented and very expensive. Video streaming capabilities and current iterations such as app stores were only adopted later. Today, a basic smartphone can perform every task that a computer can. They are no longer referred to as smartphones but just “phones”. With this in mind, whatever will be in your PC in the next five years may be the same, just more powerful.
